Flexible And Easy Approach To Learning

University of Phoenix has designed their degree programs to meet your busy schedule. Classes take place during the evenings and on the weekends so you can continue working full time while earning your degree. In fact, University of Phoenix prefers that you work full time while attending school so that you can apply what you learn to the "real world". This hands-on approach to learning enables students to improve their career right away, as well as in the future.

One Class At a Time

Students take one class at a time. This allows students to focus on one subject at a time. Classes last from five to six weeks, and each class builds on the previous one. This enables students to master one subject before moving on to the next, and also allows for students to apply what they learn in one class to the following. Classes are team focused. Each individual is assigned to a team of three to five students who meet weekly to discuss lecture material and prepare assignments. Teamwork is an important aspect of the working world, and University of Phoenix believes that more learning is achieved through working in groups because you cover more material than you would individually, you enhance communication and teamwork skills, and you are challenged by different ways of thinking.

Academic Theories And Real-World Experience

University of Phoenix believes that it is easier to grasp new material when it's relevant to your life. University of Phoenix encourages that the class incorporate your real life experiences and use them as a valuable resource as you interact and share with your fellow students. The classrooms or learning groups are active, lively and highly involving. Instead of relying solely on lectures, we use simulations, seminars, group discussions, student work-related projects and more.
